R.I.P. Tippy

Tippy died Thursday October 27th 2011 at the age of 18. He was my recliner copilot and best friend. I miss you sooooo much buddy!

Tippy lost his beautiful senior sister this morning, we are all very sad.

Winter Stinks

This winter just gets worse. Snow, snow and more snow ( with a little below 0 temperatures to top it off) Tippy hates snow and cold and mom and dad make me go out to go potty. I tell them I should be able to go in the house but they don't think that is a good idea, Tippy gets scolded.

Santa has already put something in Tippys stocking. I wonder what it could be. I hope everybody gets what they want for Christmas.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my moms birthday, she is 44. I hope she does not get mad at me for telling her age. Mom and dad just had cake and we got to lick icing off her finger YUM!
Do any of you pups watch The Bachelor with your people? We were mad, we wanted him to pick DeAnna (we don't like Jenni - she was in love with herself.)
Grandma is having Thanksgiving dinner at her new house this year so my sisters and I won't get to lick those wonderful plates this year. On Friday I get to help mom put up the Christmas tree. She has been listening to Christmas music already, her favorites this year are Christmas from the Realm of Glory by Bebo Norman and Barenaked for the Holidays by The Barenaked Ladies. Time for a potty break.

By the way, I did not get to eat the little green birdy. Nobody claimed it, but a lady called and said if we can't find the owners she would take it, so we gave it to her.

This little green birdy flew in to the grocery store my mom works at, she called my dad and he went and got a cage for it and brought it home. Mom says she put an ad in the paper so maybe he can find his way back home. Mom says we cant keep him because Stella and I have high prey drives ( whatever that means ) Hey I wonder if he tastes good with ketchup.

Heidi went to the doctor and her test for her kidneys came back normal, her liver test still came back high but the doctor said he is not worried about that yet. the important thing was to get her kidneys back in good working order. That old girl is a tank

Dear friends, if your people get new bed pillows make sure they give you the old ones. They fit perfectly under the desk.

update on Heidi

My sister Heidi went back to the doctor on monday, her new BUN test number is 60 down from 126 the last time, my mom says that is good news. Mom says that her liver numbers have gone up, that is bad news. Heidi has another round of pills to take, and special yucky dog food to eat. we hope in 2 weeks at her next doctor visit all her numbers have gone down.

Tippy's sister Heidi is sick, she has come down with a kidney infection and it has made her kidneys stop functioning the way they should. Her first bun test (Blood Urea Nitrogen) had her level at 140, normal level should be 34 or lower. the doctor gave her an antibiotic shot and pills. She seemed to get better for a few days, then seemed to take a turn for the worse. Mom and gramma took her back to the doctor and her bun level number had gone up higher, the doctor said it was not looking good for her but he gave her a bag of fluids and sent her home. a few days later dad took her back to have her checked, (mom and dad both thought she was not comming home again) but her bun levels have come down and she has more energy so mom and dad think she is on the road to recovery. She needs to go back to the doctor next week for a check, we are all hoping for good news

Tippy is sooooooo happy! Me and my mom finally get to read the last Harry Potter book. Maybe this is the book where we find out that Harry has a dog and his dog saves the day. I'm sure thats how it is going to end.

Today is the last day of vacation for my mom. We had a nice relaxing week. She stayed home with me all week. She didnt go to grammas house because her fish tank seems to have a problem and she has to put medicine in it every day and dad wont do it because he hates fish. I did help my mom get alot of knitting and crocheting done. we finished 1 and a half pair of socks, a baby afghan and started a mohair scarf. My sister Elsie is in the picture with the scarf, (I got tired of having my picture taken and I went and buried myself under my blankies in my cage). and of course we watched our Chicago Cubs sweep the Houston Astros!

Today is the first day of me and my moms vacation, we are just chillin out on the deck but its kinda hard when it is 95 degrees. My mom says she might go to her moms house in a place called chicago for a few days. I don't like when she leaves me but dad won't let her take me with her. I don't know why, I would like to visit my gramma Rosie

Tippy wishes everybody a great 4th, make sure you are good, maybe your people will give you a hamburger or hot dog! also don't be afraid of the fire cracker noise, it won't hurt you if you stay in the house

Take your dog to work day

According to my moms calender tomorrow is BRING YOUR DOG TO WORK DAY. I was soooooo excited until mom said no Tippy, you can't come to work with me. She says only service dogs are allowed in grocery stores. It's not fair! I could taste test all her customers dog treats to make sure they were OK before they get them home. I think that sounds like a good idea.
